POEM: «A Little bit of You»

(Photo by FBC, property of Omnia Caelum Studios Valencia, C.2021, All Rights Reserved)

A little bit of you…

a piece of me.

Sweat breaks off our skin and we sprinkle the floor with the gin we drank in better days when we thought we were truly free.

No, it wasn’t honey, we toasted with bile and not champagne, no honey moon with us remained.

And it wasn’t freedom.

Shackled hands and shackled feet to the altar we were led by a glorious man of many wars a sailor tried and true, with voices pouring from his head that made us dream of youth…

A hefty chunk of you,

and a bit more of me,

leads us to days when we suffer dearly and crave to live one more second of laughter or a minute of tears.

Because if from you and from me there exists only shadows,

from me and from you there is nothing.

The Church of Aya Sophia, (Άγια Σοφία), constructed in Constantinople in A.D. 360 as a temple to Christ, to wisdom, to faith and to beauty. It holds priceless treasures of Byzantine iconography.

#poem, «Círculo eterno»

(Francisco Bravo Cabrera/representado por un actor/Atenas, 2025/D.R.)

“Círculo eterno”

Hambrienta,
la serpiente busca su cola,
¿Piensas que la muerde?
Te equivocas,
pretende…

De las migas del pan infinito
nacen las estrellas,
de las cenizas
las llamas,
y plegado el universo a Dios
su salvación implora,
rezando canciones y versos

Art History (Ch.1): Fra Angelico

Early Renaissance painter from Italy and a great one to kick off this series of Art History for all. I think all can enjoy, but especially artists…

(Fra Angelico, 1395-1455)
(This painter, who was beatified by Pope John Paul II, was a master of perspective, colour, composition and facial expressions that evoked emotion)

Cheers…

#art, Drawings in JaZzArT…

(FBC/OCS Valencia/All Rights Reserved)

I call my drawings, and many of my paintings, «JaZzArT» because they dance…

Jazz music follows three basic «rules» which are: Improvisation, the player (soloist) as composer and swing. I try to do the same within my artwork. But how do I accomplish it? I’ll tell you…

First, I start by imagining the composition, in other words, visualising it vividly in full detail as I listen to some jazzy tunes; I begin to sketch to the music, following the rhythm and the nuances of the melody; I allow the sketch to «climb up to the canvas» in colours that resemble the chords and the harmonies that I am listening to; then I improvise instead of simply copying the sketch and I let my «soloist» (usually one of the figures within the composition) to lead me on, to tell me the colour, to compose a bit; then I balance the colour wheel within the composition so that it can dance…

Here are some examples of JaZzArT drawings…

#opinion, Hurricane Erin – 2001…

(Image Wikimedia Commons)

Well here is a hurricane, really an event, that practically no one knew about or know about today. It had to do with a huge hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean that was headed straight for New York City on the morning of the 11th of September, 2001. But a little before the hour of horror* it made a sharp turn and headed away, so far away it was forgotten.

Actually Hurricane Erin had lasted quite a while close to the east coast of the US…

Erin formed on September 1, 2001 from a tropical wave and was the first hurricane of the 2001 Atlantic season. Its strongest winds reached up to 105 mph or 169 kph. It totally disappeared after the 15th of September. It did not cause deaths or damage.

When it formed it was moving west-northwest, it later curved northwest then east. It passed near Bermuda and later near Newfoundland, Canada and never made landfall in the US.

It is believed, though “experts” now deny it, that it was headed straight for NYC and then at the last minute changed its course. But “official” meteorological data from the National Hurricane Center shows that Erin curved to the northeast away from the coast. Of course, “experts” now say that there is no “scientific” evidence that the storm was intentionally manipulated and diverted. Naturally, theories about hurricane control are not supported by mainstream (read controlled) meteorology.

The “official” word is that although Erin was active on September 11, 2001, and seen on satellite images that day, its position relative to New York is part of a conspiracy theory. In their official conclusion Erin posed mostly marine hazards, i.e. waves, rather than a direct threat to land.

But I prefer conspiracy theories as they feel gripping, meaningful, and usually more coherent than the messy, boring, convoluted explanations “experts” often gives us and insist they are the truth and the “official story.”

Conspiracy theories give meaning where the official story shows randomness and made up “truths.” They offer a sense of intention, design, pattern and purpose.

I am a more of a conspiracy analyst and as I analyse events like Hurricane Erin, I truly enjoy the trip down the rabbit hole.
