FRANCISCO BRAVO CABRERA IS BODO VESPACIANO – GET IN TOUCH
Pues ¡No!

He is 81 years old and travels the world playing, singing, and making many, many people happy. Some of those knew him since the days of The Beatles, others from Wings, others, the younger ones, believe he has always been McCartney, the solo artist. But we all love him and not just because of the musical career this genius of the 20th (and 21st) century has had… He has been writing songs since he was 14 years old, pre-rock and roll, rock and roll, ballads, electronic music, symphonic music, film soundtracks for Hollywood movies, and let’s not forget his years as a co-author with John Lennon, forming the great duo Lennon & McCartney… But hey, he must be slowing down a bit, right? Well, no! The great Paul is on tour… The Got Back World Tour started on April 22, and its first stop was the Glastonbury festival (June 25, 2022), where Macca was the headliner. The world tour will end on December 16, 2023… So get ready, there’s a lot more of Macca to listen to and see.

In 1971, Paul McCartney faced a tough crossroads: keep playing or quit. He decided to form a new band, Wings. Alongside his wife Linda, he brought along former Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine, drummer Denny Seiwell, and a second guitarist, Henry McCullough. In 1972, they embarked on their first tour in the UK. In 1973, Wings achieved their first hit with «My Love,» which reached number one in the US. Soon after, Paul collaborated with Linda and George Martin, the former producer of The Beatles, and the song «Live and Let Die» was born. In 1973, Paul, Linda, and Laine travelled to Nigeria, where they recorded the band’s most important and famous album, Band on the Run. Wings disbanded in 1981.
Con esta guitarra escribió su primera canción titulada «I Lost My Little Girl.»

And now we come to the period when he separated from The Beatles (1970)… Paul was born in Liverpool, England on June 18, 1942. His family is of Irish origin and he was baptized and raised in the Catholic faith. While attending Grammar school (1954) at the Liverpool Institute, he met George Harrison and they became friends. His mother, Mary, passed away when he was fourteen years old. His father, Jim, played the trumpet and led a jazz band in the 1920s. He always wanted Paul to take piano lessons, but the boy preferred to learn by ear and so he did. At the age of 11, his father gave him a trumpet, but he traded it for a Zenith guitar because he preferred to play and sing. With this guitar, he wrote his first song titled «I Lost My Little Girl.» (Continued in the next chapter)
In 1970, Macca released his first solo album titled McCartney, which includes his first single, the hugely successful song «Maybe I’m Amazed.» But that’s not the one I’m going to share, it’s this one:
«The Fool On The Hill» del famoso disco Magical Mystery Tour de 1967…

We continue this Thursday… the middle of the week… with some music from McCartney’s years with The Beatles. This is his song that I like the most from those times, which he wrote but is listed under the Lennon/McCartney signature. It’s called «The Fool On The Hill» from the famous 1967 album «Magical Mystery Tour«. I hope you also enjoy it, and I’ll give you this version where George Martin created the arrangements using music composed entirely by The Beatles, but mixed and used in a magical way that conveys pure love…

This is a genuine badass! In the 1960s, he was an original member of The Beatles, the world’s most famous band. Later in the 1970s, he created Wings. But the story with this dude doesn’t stop there because since he cut those wings (Wings), he has continued his journey… Paul has been the author or co-author of 32 songs that have topped the Billboard Hot 100, and as of 2009, he has sold over 25.5 million records in the US alone. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, in 1988 as a member of The Beatles and in 1999 as a solo artist. He has won an Oscar, an Emmy, 18 Grammys, was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (1965), and was knighted in 1997. As of 2020, he is considered one of the wealthiest musicians in the world with a fortune of over £800 million pounds. How about that? And at 81 years old, he is still going on world tours and still kicking ass…
In the next entries of this day we will venture more into the life and career of Sir Paul McCartney so don’t miss them…
Enjoy this song, it’s not one of his famous ones but I can dig it…

Close enough to touch yet frightful, the shapes and forms of nature blend with time and time has allowed man his domination,
his creations stand, though sometimes withered, aged and rotten, yet still there,
the thoughts, not they, they are absorbed, defeated, and thrown into the boiling pot where no one cares…

As a poet/artist, I have always engaged, wholeheartedly, in the search and I must say that what I find both amuses me and amazes me as well. In searching through Haikus…Japanese poetry…that I greatly admire, I realised that as a Western man I could not formulate a Haiku and give it the spirit that it recognises and desires. It is impossible. One must be true to one’s experiences, history and geography and because of that, and my love for expression…in its simplest forms…I developed the Euro-Ku (and the Ameri-Ku) on 02/02/2022 here in Europe, as I hail from Spain.
The idea remains the same, to express a thought, but not with the same intention of the Japanese original Haiku. The Euro-Ku must reflect our way of thinking and most importantly, our way of expressing thoughts, emotions, feelings et al. The three verses have no syllabic count restrictions, but they must flow into each other easily and smoothly. Rhyming is optional. The main difference is that the poem must be accompanied by an original, unedited illustration created by the writer. Spirituality in art can only be achieved by being faithful to the current time in which the writer lives. No one can write with the mind, the experience or the history of someone else, but we all can and should respect what is not ours…
