Puede que el título de Stella Maris, de María, la Madre de Dios, haya surgido de lo que cuentan estos versos de 1 Reyes 18:41-45. En ellos se habla de una gran sequía que afectaba toda la nación, cuando vieron una nube sobre el mar, pequeña, del tamaño de una mano, que anunciaba el final de la sequía. Este es el símbolo de la Anunciación de María por parte del Arcángel Gabriel. La nube sobre el mar es símbolo de esperanza.

The title of Stella Maris, given to Mary, the Mother of God, may have originated from the verses of 1 Kings 18:41-45.
