From the Deep
I am the sea,
I rise from my depths,
to shout,
though my screams wrapped in watery silence.
My rage unleashes my peace.
I don’t ask forgiveness.
I confess,
and if you show me what I’ve done
I will deny it.
I am the sea,
and thought I long for calm
I can’t implore it.
My depths no one has seen
but He, who walked upon them.
Without fear I followed blindly,
with only the rhythmic pulse
of His beating heart to guide me,
and it’s sound filled my ears
and calmed my soul,
until I heard my own beating heart.
And knew I was alone.
If you’ve listened to my thoughts,
that ebb and flow,
you, who made the Earth and Sky,
you know in truth I do abide,
and that my heart seeks not forgiveness,
because I am as you have made,
I need nothing more.
I was born in the first drop of rain
that turned into the seas and oceans.
It rained until you filled them all,
while the Earth stood waiting…
And while Earth waited,
a light began to shine.

What a profoundly evocative and introspective poem, Sir. 🌊✨
The imagery of the sea as both a force of rage and a vessel of calm beautifully captures the duality of human emotion. I am deeply moved by the way you weave spirituality, solitude, and self-realization into the rhythm of the waves. Lines like “I was born in the first drop of rain that turned into the seas and oceans” resonate with a timeless, elemental power, reminding us of our connection to the world and the divine. This is a masterful meditation on existence, identity, and the eternal flow of life—truly inspiring and soul-stirring.

Thank you so kindly Sir! I am so glad this poem has resonated with you. I originally had based it upon a Psalm of David (Ps. 130) but as I worked more and more on it it began to have a life of its own. I do greatly appreciate your analysis and your comment. All the best Sir.
