Expressionism was one of the great art vanguards of the 20th Century that has persevered and triumphed in the 21st… Expressionism began in Germany and quickly spread throughout Europe and later to America. Although my work generally falls within my special style, «Surreal-Expressionism», I think these acrylic on canvas paintings slide more towards the expressionist side.

What a powerful and insightful reflection on art and creative evolution! 🎨✨
Your words beautifully trace the enduring spirit of Expressionism — its emotional intensity, its defiance of convention, and its timeless ability to reveal the human soul through color and form. It’s fascinating how you’ve connected that historical movement to your own artistic identity in “Surreal-Expressionism,” a style that clearly bridges dreamlike imagination with raw emotional truth.

I especially like «Bodo Medieval» and the center painting on the top row that looks like the face of a lion, but that’s just what I see in it. That might not have been your intent, but that’s what I see and I’m drawn to it. I also like the painting on the right on the bottom row. You are an amazing artist!

Fantastic painting! Thank you for the explanation. I will hope that a critic that looks like that, though, will not read my book. LOL!
