Universities have gone from being centres of higher education to indoctrination centres. Who needs them? There are so many famous artists (in all disciplines), as well as entrepreneurs, businessmen, etcetera, who never attended uni and became extremely successful and rich.
Think of Lennon and McCartney (and George and Ringo), Elvis, Cat Stevens, Frida Kahlo, Vincent van Gogh, Frank Lloyd Wright, Keith Haring, Yoko Ono, Mick Jagger, and on and on and on…
You go to art school at uni and the professors try to influence you and “guide” you to what they like, what they consider art, which is mostly “performance/conceptual art,” understand it as “theatrical” that belongs in Theatre School and not Art School…
You go to Theatre School and they only guide you, again, towards the style/form that the profesor likes! Good grief!
What ever happened to teaching and letting the student learn on his own and choose?
Besides, a good reason to avoid most unis is that they are mostly staffed with communists…

Las universidades han pasado de ser centros de educación superior a centros de adoctrinamiento. ¿Para qué sirven entonces? Hay tantos artistas famosos (en todas las disciplinas), y emprendedores, comerciantes etcétera, que nunca asistieron a una universidad y se volvieron extremadamente exitosos y ricos.

Si estás en la facultad, digamos, de bellas artes los profesores intentan influenciarte y «guiarte» hacia lo que les gusta, hacia lo que consideran arte, que ahora se decantan por el «performance y el arte conceptual». Eso para mi es mas «teatral» que cosa de bellas artes...
¡Vas a la facultad de artes teatrales y te encuentras con lo mismo. Te orientan solo hacia el estilo/forma que le gusta al profesor! ¡Vaya, qué mierda!
¿Qué pasó con enseñar y dejar que el estudiante aprenda y luego elija su camino?
Además, una buena razón para evitar las universidades (especialmente las públicas) es que se han convertido en un foco de comunistas…
