Of course this is my opinion, and I respect all opinions. And though I know that art is what you make of it, that you decide what is good and what is bad, art is still an academic subject and should be judged in accordance to the rules of art. Taste is something else. Tell me what you think.

Yo leí una frase de Picasso referente al arte abstracto:«No hay arte abstracto: Siempre hay que empezar con algo. Después, puedes eliminar todo rastro de realidad». Me imagino que quiso decir que el buen arte abstracto tiene un mensaje, un concepto.
Aunque la verdad que a veces uno se queda en el limbo cuando contempla un cuadro cuando no tenemos mucho conocimiento de la pintura. Buen fin de semana Francisco.

That’s what it’s all about Espie. Good art is the one you like, as far as taste is concerned but as far as the profession and the academic subject of art is concerned, to be good it has to be by the rules, if not it’s bad art. Thanks my friend.

Abstract art is not my favorite. Though I appreciate the artist’s attempt to express, there is rarely anything of nuance or depth that captures my attention and causes me to linger over it. It seems geared for only an initial visual impact and often requires nothing more than a glance.

A Pollock lo creo la CIA en EEUU como respuesta a las vanguardias europeas, querían un machirulo americano que fuera el símbolo de la nueva creación americana el “action painting” o sea lo que ellos llamaron el expresionismo abstracto. Un saludo Azurea y que pases un domingo feliz.
