Hours filled with thoughts roll before me…
I’m dreaming of travelling north,
as I watch silver trains roll on by me,
floating like ghostly grey smoke.
The city surrounds me like flowers,
that brighten my eyes as I dance,
trying to provoke me and keep me,
in the street where my hope is my chance.
So I sit and I think and I dream
and I seem to float in the smoke
and run through wind
and my thoughts roll before me,
as the hours fill my mind…

Music. Flows along like a smooth jazz piece.

I was listening to Coltrane’s “Naima” at the time. Cannot get any smoother without going into “smooth jazz” which I dislike. Cheers Espie!

Con las horas presentes y las horas ausentes, se desliza tus versos en los sentimientos. Buen domingo Francisco

Heck of a dream, Francisco. I wonder what it meant–and dreams are what they are. Sometimes I wish they were real and other times when I wake up, I am happy it was just a dream.

Sometimes I used to sit at the train station and just watch the trains leaving and arriving and hoping I was on one of them heading back north to my family’s home on the Atlantic Coast in Asturias…but I went to Miami instead…

Now at least visiting Asturias could be a possibility. I can hear trains from our townhouse. They are mostly freight trains going in the direction of West Virginia, over the Blue Ridge, but I still like the sound of them and wonder what it would be like to be aboard one as a passenger or even in the caboose (if trains still have cabooses).

It’s easy to go anywhere in Spain, and Europe. Fast trains, planes, cars or walking paths. We do a lot of walking here…

Beautifully written Francis. I love the idea of watching trains. We don’t have a very good train system in much of the US let alone bullet trains.

These are such lovely lines. May you two have a blessed Sabbath. Big hugs from North Carolina. 🤗❤️🦋

Thank you so much Joni. If I can choose, I choose trains. Blessings and love to you both from us always.

I wish we had trains. My preference is to walk. We were able to do a lot of walking in Seattle but here it is impossible. I really miss that. Love to you both. ❤️🤗🦋🌹

Oh yes, we both love to walk. We used to walk all over Manhattan and here we walk the whole city, it is quite walkable and also very bike friendly, many good bike paths in the city and trails for hiking and biking in the surrounding hills and countryside. Our love to you both too!
