Digo que hago «JaZzArt», pero, ¿Qué coño es eso? Jazz es música, baile, ritmo, ¿como va ser la pintura, los cuadros, el arte bi-dimensional, jazz? ¡Imposible! Pues no…

I just said I do «JaZzArt», but what the hell is that? Jazz is music, dance, rhythm, how is it going to be a painting, how is it going to be two-dimensional art? Impossible! Yet…

El Jazz se define como música en la cual se combinan tres factores: la improvisación, el músico como compositor y el ritmo (no se excluye ningún ritmo ni se precisa uno solo). Entonces, si le aplicamos esta fórmula, esta regla, a cualquier estilo de música, vemos como hay mucha música rock de los años 1960 que se ajusta a esa estructura, aunque las canciones no suenan nada como el swing the Louis Armstrong ni el Be-bop de Miles Davis. Pues esa fórmula es la que le aplico a mi trabajo artístico, a mis dibujos y pinturas, por eso son «JaZZArt».

Jazz is defined as music which is done with these three «ingredients»: improvisation, the player as composer, and rhythm, (there is no mention of a specific rhythm). So if we apply that same formula to other types of music, like the rock of the early 1960’s, we can say they are making jazz, although it does not sound like the swing of Louis Armstrong or the Be-bop of Miles Davis. So that is the formula I use in my art, therefore my drawings, and my paintings are «JaZzArt».

Pero, reconociendo que el arte es la búsqueda, no la abandonaré jamás. La paranoia me sigue, me habla, me indica el camino para desarrollar nuevas ideas, crear nuevos conceptos, criticar de manera idónea lo que hago, lo que pienso, lo que pinto, pues la pintura también es filosofía, psicología, matemática, física nuclear, en fin, una locura…

Because I recognise that art is the search, I will never abandon my search. Paranoia casts its shadow over me, she speaks to me, shows me the way towards the development of new ideas, towards developing new concepts, letting me be the ideal critic of what I do, what I think, what I paint. Because painting is philosophy, psychology, mathematics, nuclear physics, well, madness…
