This was a very important historical time that reflected the resurgence of the values and the spirit of classical art with the philosophical developments of the age of Enlightenment. During this time in history lived great men of governance, war, music, literature and naturally art.

A favorite period of art for me. During this time of enlightenment, artists rediscovered the beauty of classic Roman art and push it into the new century. I am always amazed at how this period of time had such a vast influence on all forms of art. A wonderful post, my friend, with stunning examples to enjoy!
