Well here is a hurricane, really an event, that practically no one knew about or know about today. It had to do with a huge hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean that was headed straight for New York City on the morning of the 11th of September, 2001. But a little before the hour of horror* it made a sharp turn and headed away, so far away it was forgotten.
Actually Hurricane Erin had lasted quite a while close to the east coast of the US…
Erin formed on September 1, 2001 from a tropical wave and was the first hurricane of the 2001 Atlantic season. Its strongest winds reached up to 105 mph or 169 kph. It totally disappeared after the 15th of September. It did not cause deaths or damage.
When it formed it was moving west-northwest, it later curved northwest then east. It passed near Bermuda and later near Newfoundland, Canada and never made landfall in the US.
It is believed, though “experts” now deny it, that it was headed straight for NYC and then at the last minute changed its course. But “official” meteorological data from the National Hurricane Center shows that Erin curved to the northeast away from the coast. Of course, “experts” now say that there is no “scientific” evidence that the storm was intentionally manipulated and diverted. Naturally, theories about hurricane control are not supported by mainstream (read controlled) meteorology.
The “official” word is that although Erin was active on September 11, 2001, and seen on satellite images that day, its position relative to New York is part of a conspiracy theory. In their official conclusion Erin posed mostly marine hazards, i.e. waves, rather than a direct threat to land.
But I prefer conspiracy theories as they feel gripping, meaningful, and usually more coherent than the messy, boring, convoluted explanations “experts” often gives us and insist they are the truth and the “official story.”
Conspiracy theories give meaning where the official story shows randomness and made up “truths.” They offer a sense of intention, design, pattern and purpose.
I am a more of a conspiracy analyst and as I analyse events like Hurricane Erin, I truly enjoy the trip down the rabbit hole.
